Short term, mid term and long term planning
Short term planning
Most Early years settings with have a form of short term planning. 
- Daily or weekly plans of what the intend to plan for the week. 
Continuous provisions plan 
In the moment planning 
Plan - do - review planning (Highscope approach). 

Summarise benefits of short term planning?
Mid term planning
Mid term planning is normally an approach that review planning and observations termly.

This can be a review of activities and planning to see what has gone well and what needs to be adapted. 

This is known as 'growing'.
Long term planning 
Only more recently has long term planning been recognised by Early Years settings.
This often refers to long term curriculum plans, this is for a number of reasons. 
The growing emphasise on the statutory framework. 
The growing emphasises on the education and skills framework (OFSTED). 
This document provides an outline of how the EYFS 2024 skills and knowledge will be planned for.

EYFS 2024 For childminders
Childminders must: (Gov.UK:2024)

Be aware that further information has been provided in the framework on safeguarding responsibilities when childminders are working in a group, including a change on child protection language (Section 3, Safeguarding policies and procedures)

Ensure the safeguarding policies and procedures at a setting include all electronic devices with imaging and sharing capabilities, not just mobile phones and cameras (Section 3, Safeguarding policies and procedures). As technology changes, you should consider a wider range of devices in your policies, for example smart watches.
